Our Faith

Our faith is centered on Jesus Christ. Through Christ, God is reconciling the world to Himself and inviting us into new life by grace.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, telling the story of God’s redeeming work and guiding us in faithful discipleship. Scripture shapes our worship, teaching, and life together as a church.

As followers of Jesus, we seek to live lives of gratitude in response to God’s grace -- loving God, caring for one another, and serving our neighbors.

Our faith is expressed through our core values of Fellowship, Generosity, Faithfulness, Compassion, and Service. As a welcoming and generous church family formed by God’s abundant love, we gather for transformative worship, build purposeful relationships with God and one another, and actively share Christ’s love with our communities. These values guide how we live, serve, and grow together as a church.

What Does It Mean to Be Reformed?

Being Reformed means we are part of a stream of Christianity shaped by the Protestant Reformation and rooted in the conviction that our faith and life are continually being reformed by the Word of God.

Reformed churches emphasize the authority of Scripture, salvation by God’s grace alone through Jesus Christ, and the call to live every part of life in gratitude to God. This tradition also highlights God’s sovereignty over all creation and the belief that our faith shapes how we live, serve, and participate in God’s work in the world.

Our Confessions and Creeds

As a Reformed church, our theology is shaped by historic confessions that summarize the teaching of Scripture and connect us to the broader Christian tradition.

We affirm the historic ecumenical creeds:

  • The Apostles’ Creed

  • The Nicene Creed

  • The Athanasian Creed

We also affirm the historic Reformed confessions:

  • The Belgic Confession

  • The Heidelberg Catechism

  • The Canons of Dort

These confessions provide a faithful summary of biblical teaching and help guide our understanding of the Christian faith.

Our Life Together

At Hope Fellowship, we believe faith is lived out in community. As the body of Christ, we are called to belong to one another, encourage one another in faith, and use our gifts to serve God and others.

Throughout the week, our congregation gathers for worship, fellowship, spiritual growth, and opportunities to serve our neighbors and communities.

Our hope is to be a welcoming and generous church family that loves God, one another, and our communities well.

Our History

Hope Fellowship has deep roots in the Denver area. The church was established in 1953 as Third Christian Reformed Church and has grown and changed over the decades as new generations have become part of the congregation.

While the name and ministries of the church have evolved over time, our desire remains the same: to faithfully follow Jesus, proclaim the good news of God’s grace, and serve the surrounding community.

You can learn more about our story in The History of Our Church document or by exploring historical photos available in our church library.
